The Budget Collector helps current and prospective art collectors learn to feel more comfortable with their purchases. Ideal candidates will have a strong academic background, research experience, and an interest in collecting art.

Internship Description

The Budget Collector Internship connects students interested in art collecting with the opportunity to extend their knowledge. Interns will have the opportunity to write blogs, read art collecting books, and travel to different art galleries. The internship culminates with a final project based on the intern’s interests and skills.

Basic Qualifications

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student.
  • Excellent writer and researcher.
  • General interest in art collecting and supporting artists.

Responsibilities

  • Write blogs on the topic of art collecting.
  • Read and review two books.
  • Visit eight art galleries during your tenure.
  • Other assignments based on the selected intern’s interests and skills.

Duration

June 2020 – August 2020

Compensation

$15 Per Hour

Art Consultant

Art Consultant Description

The Budget Collector Art Consultant connects our members interested in art collecting with the opportunity to extend their knowledge. Consultants will have the opportunity to create art presentations and work with gallery owners to create an exceptional experience for our members.

Basic Qualifications

  • Ability to speak comfortably and engage with the public in an informed and sensitive manner
  • Strong interest in art collecting and supporting artists.
  • Enjoy conveying factual information in an engaging storytelling format.
  • Ability to memorize facts and dates and to “think on one’s feet.”
  • Ability to “read” individuals and groups, and respond effectively and spontaneously.
  • Committed to exploring new learning theories.
  • Possess the ability to stand for 1.5 hours, climb stairs, and walk 1.5 miles.
  • Punctual, reliable and able to convey information within a defined timeframe.
  • Able to help with the artificial intelligence system by being the “human check.”

Responsibilities

  • Read assigned books on customer service and customer loyalty.
  • Create relevant presentations for members.
  • Virtually present subject material to members.
  • Utilize artificial intelligence to create quick reports and presentations for members.
  • Assist in finding new ways to delight members.

Job Type

Part-time, up to 20 hours per week.

Compensation

$20 to $30 per hour.
