Budget Collector is a data science company dedicated to turning art enthusiasts into art collectors through their mobile app. The company’s goal is to make the art buying experience better — The company’s app features a patent-pending delivery system and is steadily building towards a goal of being the world’s largest image repository – which includes thousands of images from the world’s best museums and emerging artists with the most potential. It’s simple and convenient, and it eliminates the hassle of researching art styles, worrying about your budget, and finding something to do on a Friday night. Every user can rate art that they like, but members are personally invited to unique events that fit their taste every month, along with opportunities to meet people who like what you like.

 

Job Description

A multimedia journalist fellow will research, develop, write, edit, shoot, and go live to report digital art news stories. Think and write creatively. Contribute to special features and stories. Participate in coordinating coverage of major stories, breaking news, and specials.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Write blogs based on interviews with local art galleries and museums
  • Arrange for interviews with local art gallery owners and museum curators
  • Update social media calendar
  • Coordinate with photographer on occasion
  • Create original news stories; gather information for news stories using sources, contacts, and leads
  • Build a robust network of contacts and sources within the community
  • Deliver news reports, including live and taped segments, demonstrating energy, knowledge, confidence, professional appearance, and voice quality
  • Write, shoot, and edit own news stories for digital platforms
  • Responsible for representing the brand in a professional manner
  • Establish a community presence within Tulsa
  • Capture visual content for multiple platforms.
  • Produce photography in various methods including printed/digital media.
  • Deliver original photographs to the graphic designer
  • Any other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
  • Ability to read write, speak and understand English
  • Must have on-camera skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate solutions
  • Ability to relate well with diverse populations and age groups
  • Requires adaptability, enthusiasm, initiative and a positive approach to problem solving
  • Prefer candidates with their own camera, but Budget Collector is willing to buy a camera and any additional equipment for the photographer to borrow during the internship.
Reports To

The multimedia journalist fellow reports to the marketing lead.

Compensation

$20 per hour up to 20 hours per week.
